Have you ever considered that if you don’t value you health, fitness and wellness then you’re probably not that bothered about living a long, active and full life.

That you’re ok being at a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke.

That by the time you retire you won’t be in optimal health to enjoy it.

Exercise is better than medicine

I get that exercising is hard for some and staying consistent with it can feel like an impossible task.

But it is hands down essential for your body and your mind, anyone can do it and do it for free.

Getting your shit together and creating a regular exercise schedule has got to be better than forking out money for drugs, care and treatment that will inevitably arise from being weak, sick and exhausted.

Prevention is better than cure and all that.

You only get to rent one body for your time on this planet.

It’s not like a car that you can race around in and then upgrade for a new, sleeker model whenever it gets old. When you get tired of the scratched and dented body work, and the engine that doesn’t perform as well as it used to.

The ONLY way you can upgrade your bodywork and your engine is to put in some work, take care of it, nourish it, move it and show it some appreciation.

Healthy doesn’t mean boring

It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a drink. It doesn’t mean you can’t eat delicious food. It doesn’t mean that you can’t find a way to move your body that you actually enjoy.

Here’s a quick story for you…

On my first meeting with one of my very first clients and now long time friend, he told me that he needed to lose weight and he’d do whatever I said, and then he added in with a tone to challenge me, ‘but I won’t give up my beers with the boys’

I could see this was a make or break point for him, so I told him he didn’t have to give up anything he didn’t want to. That was the start of an epic transformation.

You can value a good time and your health

The two things aren’t mutually exclusive. There’s a world of cool stuff to do beyond your front door, away from screens. There are activities you’ve never tried, people you’ve never met, places you’ve never been.

You needn’t give up everything you love, you can find new things to love.

Ultimate wellness is about finding your perfect intersection of health and happiness.

What do you value more?

Processed food and feeling bloated or looking toned and having your clothes fit well.

Sitting all day and night staring at a screen or getting outside to move your body and enjoying nature out in the real world.

Numbing yourself unconscious and struggling to wake in the morning or a quality night’s sleep and waking energised.

We always find the time, energy and resources for the things we value in life. So if you value family and you want to be around to see your kids and grandkids grow then you will also need to learn to value your health.

If you value your business and you want to serve your clients and customers, grow bigger, be more productive, then you also need to learn to value your health so that you have the stamina, energy and capacity to boost your performance.

Whatever you value, whatever is important to you, I guarantee that staying healthy will enhance your experience of it.
